Statement on Intensifying Sanctions on the Burmese Military Government and Continuing Assistance to Burmese Resistance Forces |
The Office of Liu Jianyong |
December 12, 2023 |
Free assembly, association, demonstration, and election are the rights that the Myanmar people deserve . They are also the prerequisite for Myanmar to prosper, integrate into the international community and become a properous country. |
We urge the Myanmar military junta to respect the choice of the Myanmar people, accept the results of democratic elections, immediately release those who have been unjustly detained, and return power to the people. |
We call on the international community to continue to increase sanctions on the Myanmar military junta, while at the same time providing continued attention and economic assistance to anti-military forces within Myanmar. |
We support the Myanmar people's pursuit of democracy and justice, and we will continue to stand firmly with the Myanmar people. |
